| Honestly, I think that if Universal DID make a sequel to The Lorax (which would be kinda awesome), they'd be smart to pander to the Once-ler fandom AND kids. I think making the sequel into more of a prequel, focusing on The Once-ler and his life, would make the fandom grow tremendously, answer a lot of unanswered questions, and give Ed Helms a reason to be the star of yet another movie. I don't know if anyone else agrees with this, but I know if they were smart, they'd do this. | |

| That was my thought too! Maybe like from his childhood all the way through when ted comes. His descent into greed, what he DID in his Lerkim (that part'd probably be really short). They could add all those songs they cut out! (Biggering, Nobody Needs A Thneed, Once-ler's Traveling Madness) | |

I never thought of a prequel, but you two seem to have great ideas. OvO I was trying to figure out how they would do a sequel or anything of that sort, because if they did the 5 years the Thneed was being sold, then it would be too dark and depressing for kids, not giving the right impression to them. Maybe him on his travels or maybe his adventures before he was successful with the Thneed? That's seems like such a short time period though.

| Too dark for kids You're probably right, which makes me sad because THAT'S the part I really want to see. Well, I want to see all of it obviously but I think they totally could've dragged that out more in the movie. | |

Very true, but as much as we want to see it, they probably won't do it. :'c Another thing I thought they might do is Once-ler/Norma possibly? I don't ship anyone, but with that suspicious picture in Old Once-ler's house, maybe they were trying to hint at that?

| It's possible. I don't particularly ship anyone either, but it's be interesting. I totally want a book now. I mean, obviously the Lorax is already a book, but a prequel book, made for teenagers, about the Once-ler's WHOLE life. I would die if it came out. | |

| I'm sure, we, as a fandom, have enough headcanons about the Once-ler as a kid to make up a whole book of 'em. We'd just have to make it coherent enough to be plausible.
I'd love to see more Once-ler, but I feel like if they made another movie, there's no way it could be a prequel, because what's the big payoff/victory at the end of the movie? It certainly can't be him selling his first thneed. They'd have to create a whole new ambition for the Once-ler, and that would feel out of place considering the current movie we've got. If anything, we'd probably get a sequel with another Ted and Audrey-centralized story, which I wouldn't mind, as long as we get more Helen and Grammy Norma XD
There's a lot of directions you can go with a dystopia. Not too many of which you can cover in a kid's movie :C

| I want a sequel or prequel really bad~! I really hope they make either one. I'd love a movie about Oncie, but they probably won't =\ | |
